Birthing Doula

From our initial meeting all the way through your pregnancy and delivery, I take the time to get to know you, your concerns and your needs. I’m always available to contact by phone/email throughout and will provide everything you require to make sure your experience is as calm and positive as possible.

As your birth doula I will:

• Meet with you 2-3 times in the lead up to the birth

• Be available by phone/email for a chat or questions anytime

• Assist you to write your birth preferences

• Be on call from 38 weeks

• Be with you from whenever you need me during labour and for the birth: home / the birth centre / hospital

• Leave when you and your baby are nestled happily together

• Visit a day or two after birth to debrief

• Provide relaxation for birth session (massage, oil, bath, relaxing music, lighting)

• Extensive birth preparation handouts

• Pre-natal visit(s) to prepare you for your labour, birth and newborn

• Assistance with and preparation of a birth plan that works

• Telephone support and advice throughout pregnancy and immediate postpartum

• Suggestions for a more comfortable pregnancy and birth

• Alternative relief measures for morning sickness and other discomforts during pregnancy

• Massage and other alternative pain relief measures during labor

• Continuous, uninterrupted support throughout labour and birth and immediate postpartum

• Labor and birth positioning suggestions for comfort and labour progress

• Breastfeeding preparation, information and support

• Photographs of labour, birth and/or baby

• Guaranteed backup doulas

• A birth ball available for your use before labour

• ERW ongoing during pregnancy
